FIVE WEEKS TILL OPENING NIGHT!!
Hi Everyone,
Rehearsal schedule below for this week. Plan on dance/movement/choreo brush up for much of the week PLUS music review. Additionally -- we will be having the lighting and sound advisors in this week working with us. This is getting VERY exciting!!!!
Saturday Tech was a dream. I said to Jake that the hum of productivity was music to my ears! Literally EVERYONE was engaged in really important and beautiful executed work.

- COSTUMES look amazing -- June, Lia and Mrs. Sullivan and her crew were busy busy busy -- this is such a HUGE costuming job and I couldn't ask for a better crew!
- SET: Jeff, Warren and Mr. Valley have done an INCREDIBLE job with set pieces and props -- including a gorgeous Argentinian sun set piece, a two story deck with revolve, and a gorgeous and realistic bank of vintage microphones.
- LIGHTING: Mike and Anna and Emily worked on Spotlight operating practice -- they'll have lots to do for this show!
- PROPS: Paige, Peggy and Christa and the props crew had detailed props spreadsheets the set is up, an AMAZING revolve was completed by two students (Connor and Marisa) who are completing their Capstone project.
- TECH MEALS -- delicious, as usual, and many thanks to Mrs. Malafronte and Mrs. Vanacore
- SPECIAL GUEST STARS -- This week, we were joined by Mr. Hackett (Tech Ed department chair), Mr. Searles, Mr. Teasdale, Mr. Sullivan, Mr. Bottiger, Mrs. Valaitis, Ms. Liberman and Mrs. Camarco. I can't even begin to tell you how much I love seeing parent and teacher volunteers working with us!
- MANAGEMENT -- and, as usual, Jake and his ASMs Riley and Emily continue to be incredibly valuable assets to this entire crew. Their knowledge of the show and what needs to be done and when is absolutely crucial
- THE ORCHESTRA -- Mr. Gahm and the Orchestra crew came in to practice and sounded AMAZING!
- THE CAST -- I felt like we got SO much done today.... Thank you for your patience and willingness to collaborate.

Good Things....
Hi Everyone --
A bit of business -- I inadvertently forgot that April 6th is both Good Friday and the first evening of Passover. SO....we will NOT be having rehearsal that evening. I made note of this on the rehearsal page of the blog:
REHEARSAL UPDATE -- April 6
I was also reflecting on yesterday and some of the things that Mr. Buno and I have been/were sharing with you all regarding rehearsal, performance, and preparation. I know that it may seem, sometimes, like we are being exacting and that we have really high expectations of you.
We do.
We believe in you. We believe in your ability to create real, authentic, beautiful theatre. We believe that you are capable of inspiring people. We believe that you have ALREADY put countless hours into this piece. We believe that your work should and ought to be a reflection of all that you are and all that you can do. We believe you when you say you want to be proud of your production....and we will always work alongside you.
Take a look at this article from the Hartford Courant:
CT High School Music Theatre Awards

Last Year's Nominees
These schools -- some with well-funded budgets; some with curricular theatre departments; some with larger school populations -- are all great examples of what a high school theatre production can be. While we may not have a curricular theatre department; a big budget or a large school population, this does not mean that we are at a disadvantage when holding our work up next to the work of other great programs. I have worked with departments like these, and what ALL successful programs have in common is a group of adults and kids working together; working smart; working hard; taking pride in the small details; not settling for just being a "good high school show," and believing in the power of the collective group.
Let's build on all the great things we have going for us. Let's count our strengths and work to address our weaknesses.
We've come so far since we began....let's go further!

SOUND CREW SCHEDULE
Thursday, March 1, 2012
REHEARSAL SCHEDULE updates.
Please continue to check the schedule for rehearsal times -- especially after a cancelled rehearsal (i.e. yesterday's weather related cancellation). I have had to squeeze in some make-up rehearsal times.
AGAIN -- one of the reasons we asked for conflicts WAAAAY back in December is that we wanted to avoid any and all conflicts in March and April.

We need you at all scheduled rehearsals.
thank you,
Ms. M-T and Mr. Buno
